CaptionMaker creates HD closed captions files for users of Avid Media Composer 5, Symphony 5, and Newscutter 9, or later versions. You can create an Avid AAF file using CaptionMaker, and any AAF file can be used on either PC or Mac based Avid systems.
See our product comparison chart to find the configuration that’s right for you.
CaptionMaker generates an Avid-native AAF file that contains HD closed captions formatted for Avid Media Composer. This file is simply dropped onto the "D Track" or data track. When you play the HD sequence out through your Avid Mojo DX or Nitris DX hardware, or export a MXF or AAF file from Media Composer, the output will contain the closed captions. Our software can also generate a line 21 overlay file used to add closed captions to SD video sequences.
CaptionMaker can embed closed captions directly into many kinds of video files for digital delivery:
CaptionMaker can create alpha channel subtitle videos to overlay burned-in subtitles for any NLE system.
CaptionMaker can encode closed captions directly into DV QuickTime files. You can then print to DV (miniDV, DVCAM, DVCPRO) tape via Firewire using any version of Premiere Pro.
CaptionMaker can add closed captions to many web video formats: QuickTime (including for iPod/iPhone/iPad/etc.), iTunes, YouTube, Windows Media.
CaptionMaker can add closed captions and subtitles to DVD, Blu-ray, and most professional authoring programs.
